How to Apply
Applications are accepted throughout the year. Enrollment in a course is subject to seat availability. You can apply online at www.aigsthailand.com

Seating in any course is not guaranteed until AIGS has received all required documents and course fees. We strongly encourage you to apply at least 3-4 months prior to the start date of a course.

Admissions Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent. Applicants under the age of 18 years must have the signed permission by a parent or legal guardian. Admissions are not granted to applicants under the age of 18 years old.

English Proficiency
All classes are taught in English unless otherwise indicated. Students who enroll in courses should have a good command in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English. Assistance in English will not be provided by AIGS.

Enrollment Policies and Procedures
To guarantee enrollment in a course, AIGS must receive a complete application and passport copy. Full payment of the course fees must be paid 30 days before the class begins. It is the student’s responsibility to ensure that these payments are made on time. AIGS shall have the option of replacing his/her seat with those on the waiting list. Seating is limited and is done on a first-come, first-served basis. All courses needed to complete an Accredited Gemologist Diploma must be completed within a period of 2 years.

Cancellation & Refund Policy
Students receive a 100% refund for courses cancelled by AIGS.

You may cancel your enrollment prior to the course start date. All cancellation requests must be in writing and e-mailed to registrar@aigsthailand.com

Course fee refunds are determined by when the cancellation request is received:
  • 28 days or more prior to the course start date - AIGS refunds 80%
  • 15-27 days prior to the course start date - AIGS refunds 50%
  • Less than 14 days prior to the course start date - no refund is applicable


Students may opt to reschedule to a future course in lieu of cancellation. AIGS is not responsible for any related expenses such as visa, bank fees, flights, accomodation, etc.

Refunds are processed within 30 days of when the request is received. Bank transfer fees for refunds are borne by the receiver.

If a course is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances outside of AIGS control such as COVID-19, government restrictions, etc. no refund is applicable, however students may reschedule to a future course date of their convenience.

Class Attendance Policy
  • Minimum class attendance is 80% of the total number of class days.
  • A maximum of absent days which is equivalent to the minimum class attendance requirement is allowed and based upon the course duration. Entering the class 15 minutes after the scheduled class start time is considered tardy. Twice tardy is equivalent to 1 absent day.
  • Failure to observe AIGS’s Attendance Policy will result in the student being prohibited to sit for both the theory and practical examinations.
Payment Methods
Payment methods accepted are by Credit Card for Online registration. Applicants are kindly requested to email to AIGS for cash payments or Bank transfers.

Property Liability
In case of a loss, deterioration or destruction (property damage), of any stone samples, study materials, instruments or equipment belonging to the school, you are liable and will be required to pay for the loss/replacement and/or repairs of the property. We recommend that you check with your private liability insurance if it covers claims arising in Thailand.

Notice of Classroom Chemical Usage
Students may come into contact with chemicals such as gem refractive index (RI) liquid in some courses. If you are pregnant or have certain medical conditions, you should contact your physician for medical advice prior to registration. I release AIGS, its agents and employees from any claims arising from my use or exposure to such chemicals.

Visa to Thailand
International students are advised to check with the Embassy or Consulate of Thailand in their country of residence. Students must obtain necessary visas BEFORE arriving in Thailand. It is the responsibility of students to comply with the immigration laws in Thailand. For more information, please refer to Visa to Thailand on www.aigsthailand.com.

I hereby confirm that I have read and understand all requirements for admission to the school and declare that the information given in this application is correct to the best of my knowledge. Furthermore, I have read the AIGS REGISTRATION POLICIES and Student Handbook and Standards of Behavior and agree to abide by it.
