How to Apply
and what are the Deadlines
Applications are accepted throughout the year. However, we remind you that enrollment to a course is subject to seat availability. Online registration is available at www.aigsthailand.com/Online Registration, or you can complete the AIGS Enrollment Application Form and submit your application by mail, fax or email.
The Application Form must be received by AIGS to be considered for admission. Seating in any course will not be granted as “reserved” until AIGS has received all required fees and documents. Please refer to Enrollment Policies and Procedures.
AIGS generally starts new classes every 3 months, however, as seating is limited, we strongly encourage you to apply at least 3 to 4 months before the start date of the course.
Applicants must be at least 18 years-old and have a minimum of a high school diploma, or the equivalent. Application for applicants under the age of 18 years must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Admissions are not granted to applicants under the age of 16 years-old.
All classes are taught in English unless otherwise indicated. Students who enroll in courses should have a good command in reading, writing, understanding, and speaking English. Assistance in English will not be provided by AIGS.
Enrollment Policies and Procedures
To guarantee enrollment in a course, AIGS must receive a complete application (with two photos). 50% of tuition fee must be paid 90 days before a class begins, and balance must be paid 30 days before a class begins. It is the student's responsibility to meet the deadlines for payment. Should a student fail to pay the remaining balance by the due dates, AIGS shall have the option of replacing his/her seat with those on the waiting list. Seating is limited and is done on a first-come, first-served basis. No prior experience or knowledge of gems or jewelry is required for the courses except for Synthetic & Treated Gem Identification. To be considered for direct entry into this course you must have successfully completed the AIGS Gem Identification Course or any equivalent course from a reputable gemological school.
Enrollment in the A.G. program
Students enrolling in the A.G. program must finish all required courses within one year of the first date of payment. Beyond the one year period, students will be subjected to any tuition increases that may have occurred. (Example: Old fee = 20,000 Baht, New fee in effect since date of enrollment = 22,000 Baht, Additional amount to be paid = 2,000 Baht.)
If cancellation is made
2 months prior to the course starting date, 80 % of course fee will be refunded.
1 month prior to the course starting date, 50% of course fee will be refunded.
2 weeks or less before the course starting date, no refund.
All changes to proposed course attendance must be made at least 30 days before the class begins.

Class Attendance Regulations
1: Minimum class attendance is 80% of the total number of class days.
2: A maximum of absent days which is equivalent to the minimum class attendance requirement is allowed and based upon the course duration. Entering the class 15 minutes after the scheduled class start time is considered tardy. Twice tardy is equivalent to 1 absent day.
3: Failure to observe AIGS’s Attendance Policy will result in the student being prohibited to sit for both the theory and practical examinations. Additional information regarding AIGS Attendance Policy and Rules of Behavior is given in our Student Handbook which you will receive a copy of the 1st day of your course.
Payment methods accepted are: Credit Cards and Paypal for Online registration. Applicants are kindly requested to email to AIGS (email@example.com) for cash payments, bank transfers, or payment by cheque.
In case of a loss, deterioration or destruction (property damage), of any stone samples, study materials, instruments or equipment belonging to the school, you are liable and will be required to pay for the loss/replacement and/or repairs of the property. We recommend that you check with your private liability insurance if it covers claims arising in Thailand. If it does not, please take steps you deem necessary.
Visa to Thailand
International students are advised to check with the Embassy or Consulate of Thailand in their country of residence. Students must obtain necessary visas BEFORE arriving in Thailand. It is the responsibility of students to comply with the immigration laws in Thailand. For more information, please refer to Visa to Thailand on www.aigsthailand.com.
I hereby confirm that I have read and understand all requirements for admission to the school and declare that the information given in this application is correct to the best of my knowledge. Furthermore, I have read the AIGS REGISTRATION POLICIES, Student Handbook and Standards of Behavior and agree to abide by it. By my signature on this Enrollment Application, I also understand that in certain classes during the course of my studies at AIGS, I may come into contact with chemicals. If I am pregnant, or have certain medical conditions, or subject to allergies, I should contact my physician for medical advice prior to registration.
